This beautiful home is located on an estate in a rural area of Quebec that has been inhabited by the same family for almost a century. Atelier Carle was asked to take a critical approach to sustainability issues related to residential architecture in rural areas for this project. In the same way that the architectural development ‘blurs’ the two eras of the territory's occupation, the choice of materials and furniture places the character of the spaces in an aesthetic between old and new.
