7 Inspirational bathrooms painted with Pure & Original

Welcome to this feature with bathrooms. I’m excited to show you inspirational bathrooms and options for styles so you can start your own bathroom make-over.

The bathroom is the room you’re likely to spend much time in. In the morning you kick-start your day ahead and in the evening you enjoy unwinding from a busy day. Not to mention times you’d like to just refresh or get ready to go out again.

That’s why it’s essential to have a bath- or shower-room with a relaxed and welcoming feel.

Of course, good space planning is key, but in this blog I’m focusing on some amazing styles how to create the perfect sanctuary! So here are some fabulous examples to inspire you.

Modern Country

This bathroom was designed within a master bedroom suite (design by Veronique Hendriks/Design Studio V).

The choice to paint the walls with Fresco in the colour Black Smoke creates a good backdrop for the wall art and bathroom furniture, and adds a pleasant contrast. The colour mimics the stone vanity top and metal lights above.

The walls were given a finish with Dead Flat Eco Sealer so they’re protected and easy to wipe clean.

It’s a wonderful sealer to use, easy to apply and the Fresco walls still have that lovely matt, authentic finish. But do keep in mind that it’ll deepen the colour somewhat, which worked out perfectly in this scheme.

The organic shape and soft whiteWhite colour of the stone bath in front of the same Fresco BlackBlack SmokeBlack Smoke finish adds to the purity of the bathroom.

The ceiling is painted in Pure & Original’s Traditional Paint colour White, which keeps it all pure and simple as well as light and airy.

But if you’re like me, you’re probably happy to have one particular element in the bathroom that could be given the eye-catching make-over, or could be the element that gives you the inspiration to choose colours. Like these ….

Classic Country

Don’t you just want to plunge yourself in this classic Victorian slipper bath? The choice of colour and paint type for the walls is ideal for a bathroom like this.

The deep Cardinal Red colour not only adds to the cocooning feel of the space but also complements the traditional floor tiles and bath perfectly. The Licetto is nearly as matt as Classico chalk paint, but is ideal for high traffic areas or moist-prone spaces like bathrooms. And you don’t have to seal it! (You can read a bit more on Licetto paint later).

The ton-sur-ton effect is further complemented by the colours of the art on the wall, which is a lovely personal touch.

If you happen to have a salvaged bath just like this one, why not use the Classic Country elements to create …. BohemianBohemian Chic!

I love this original bathtub, especially in combination with the Marble floor. It’s looking even more stunning by the decision to use Pure & Original Fresco colour Oxford Blue. Fresco paint is ideal for bathrooms since it keeps the walls breathable and is mould and bacteria repellent. By keeping the bath colour similar, the result is relaxing and welcoming. The warm golden colour of the shower taps with shower head adds definition and brings the whole scheme into 2018. The bath is now inviting you in (don’t forget the scented bubbles!) and it’s become a real centrepiece with that inspiring touch of Bohemian Chic.

But what if you rather have a style with clean lines?

Nordic Calm

This timeless washroom design shows the power of well-chosen materials. We all need good storage and here the storage is created below the blue fossil stone top thus making good use of otherwise limited space. The doors have been painted in the durable Traditional Paint colour Smoked Steel. Which is great since this paint has great coverage so you don’t end up having to apply more than 2 coats. The walls have been given the neutral colour Sea Salt in Pure & Original Classico chalk paint which gives it a lovely very matt, chalky finish and adds to the quality of the space.

Similar yet different at the same time is the practical washroom design with a black stone bowl on a wooden top.

Pure and simple, is how I’d describe this practical washroom design. The walls are finished with Pure & Original Licetto paint (colour Ashes). With the matt finish similar to Classico chalk paint. Licetto paint is perfect in a bathroom since it’s even more durable and cleanable. This is especially ideal if you have children's dirty hands all around making a splash!

Modern Rustic

Similar to styles as seen in Elle Decoration Country and Country Living’s Modern Rustic, this look is becoming more and more popular.

Create the modern rustic look with Fresco paint or – as in this case – with Marrakech Wall paint.

It’ll look even more amazing when you team it up with very modern or industrial elements.

Marrakech Wall paint is a thick paint which is applied in a different way than standard paint. It adds a little texture to the walls creating the favoured concrete style finish.

The natural pigments used to colour the Pure & Original paints add to the depth of colour. I love it; it makes these finishes even more exciting!
